Pride of Reading Unveils December Fever of 70th Anniversary Specials




Independent jewellers Jacobs the jewellers has beaten its fundraising target of £70,000, raising over £77,500 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital, specifically the Berkshire Cancer Centre.
Celebrating its 70th year-long anniversary, Jacobs is raising funds as a way of giving back to the Reading community. The ambitious goal is to raise funds for the purchase of Surface Guided Radiotherapy Machine, which forms part of cancer treatment. Let’s have a recap on Jacobs prize draw updates and seven (7) eras of jewellery.

Jacobs the Jewellers’ Launches September-rific 70th Anniversary Affair


Jacobs continues to celebrate their year-long 70th anniversary with fun, prizes and surprises. Holding the Reading community at its heart, Jacobs the Jewellers aims to reach a lofty goal of raising £70,000 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity.

Jacobs Sky Dive and Raffles: Exciting Fundraising Events in Reading


The first quarter of the year built up a lot of excitement for the 70th anniversary of Jacobs the Jewellers. What could be a better way to start the second quarter than with a gallant skydive and an exciting raffle draw?
Jacobs’ 70th anniversary celebration is centred on raising funds for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity. One of the activities that many would look forward is the quarterly raffle, supported by local Reading businesses. It was drawn on the 6th of April by Ian Thomson, Director of Royal Berk Charity, and Adrienne Jacobs, Co-owner of Jacobs the Jewellers.

Jacobs Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Special Events this Spring


Jacobs the Jewellers’ year-long celebration is brimming with special events to raise £70,000 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity. Throughout the year, Jacobs initiatives will range from quarterly raffle draws, gala luxury black-tie dinner, to a gallant charity skydive. Furthermore, there will be 7 unique pieces of jewellery that Jacobs’ in-house designers will create as part of the final initiative.
To highlight the celebration for this season, a team of ‘Jacobs Jumpers’ will make a tandem jump on the 22nd of April 2018 from an aerodrome North of Reading. Currently, the team is seeking sponsorship to make the event successful. This will help in raising funds for the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Jacobs’ 2018 anniversary centres on the ambitious goal of raising £70,000 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity, specifically the Berkshire Cancer Centre in what is also the NHS’s 70th anniversary year. Jacobs has kicked off 2018 in dazzling form, launching the first three innovative fund-raising initiatives of its program.

Award-winning Reading jewellery shop, Jacobs the Jewellers, will be having a designers’ competition in 2018. A series of its 70th anniversary celebration this year involves crafting different pieces of jewellery. Jewellery pieces with the most incredible designs will be sold and/or auctioned during the course of 2018 with a percentage donated towards the Royal Berks Charity.
One of the designs will also be created via a competition with local schools for children 14 years and older facilitated by Jelly, Reading’s award-winning arts charity, leading to the winner’s idea being made into a real pendant for sale towards the fundraising.
