Seventy For Seventy: Reading Jewellery Shop Plans 70th Year In Style


Reading’s independent jewellery retailer, Jacobs the Jewellers, sets an ambitious, imaginative & innovative programme for its 70 years anniversary celebration in 2018.
Jacobs the Jewellers’ “Seventy for Seventy” programme is to raise £70,000 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity, specifically the Berkshire Cancer Centre. Throughout the anniversary year, a series of events and initiatives are planned to raise funds for the National Health Service (NHS) trust.

This award-winning jewellery shop in Reading, Berkshire starts with a charity skydive in Spring. A team of Jacobs’s Jumpers will join on this event. In the late Summer, a golf day will be held, space for runners in the Reading Half Marathon and for its programme finale, there will be a gala dinner & party in Autumn.

The prizes will be a unique mix of Jacobs own watch, jewellery and gift partners, as well as local businesses. All proceeds will go to the Royal Berkshire Hospital Charity’s Cancer centre to purchase cutting-edge equipment for Surface Guided Radiotherapy treatment.

Pride of Reading Jewellery Shop Keeps 70 Years of Quality Craftsmanship


++ READING, BERKSHIRE November 7th 2017 (Updated) ++ Jacobs the Jewellers is delighted to announce that it won a prestigious ‘Pride of Reading’ award at a gala awards ceremony hosted by local born champion Chris Tarrant on Friday 3rd November.
The business scooped the 2017 ‘Business in Action’ Award for Reading businesses with fewer than 50 employees. The award is in recognition of the outstanding contribution and fundraising Jacobs the Jewellers has carried out in the Reading community over the years. The 3rd generation family business was anonymously nominated with the final decision being made by a panel of independent judges.
The King Street central Reading business has a fine track record of fundraising over many years, supporting local charities such as The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Launchpad, Rotary, Finchies and Reading Voluntary Action.
